The City operates under one local planning scheme and the text and maps are available for download below.

All land in the 91ÊÓƵAPP¹ÙÍø falls under Local Planning Scheme controls, so if you are considering erecting a building or intend using land for a purpose different to its current use please contact the City's Town Planning team first on (08) 9956 6600.

You may need to lodge a development application and development approval may need to be obtained before taking any further action.

Deemed Provisions for Local Planning Schemes

The Local and Town Planning Schemes are to be read in conjunction with the deemed provisions set out in 

State Planning Policy 3.6 – Infrastructure Contributions

In accordance with Schedule 1 cl. 27 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 State Planning Policy 3.6 – Infrastructure Contributions is to be read as part of the Scheme.  A copy of SPP 3.6 and accompanying explanatory materials can be found on the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage website .
